Research and Development
This area is closed to visitors. Behind closed doors, the balers of the future are developed here. An important factor in researching new systems is field testing. In contrast to all other technical fields, agricultural machines may only be tested for a short time during the year, namely during harvest time. However, for the Research and Development department, harvest time is 12 months per year because CLAAS tests the machines of the future at multiple test facilities around the globe. It is always harvest time somewhere in the world.
Ullrich Hesselmann (QUADRANT Development Manager) says: "In addition to our test facilities in southern Europe, South Africa and New Zealand, we of course also place our balers with contractors and large farms all over Germany for trial use. Through personal use of the machines under the most diverse conditions, the strengths and weaknesses of the design can be determined with speed and certainty. Direct exchange of experiences with the customer naturally plays an important role here. "
