Interest in the new AXION 900 series is immense and we are regularly asked: when is it going to be launched, what does it look like? As far as the launch is concerned, we can tell you that the new tractors are currently completing their comprehensive test programme and will be available from spring 2012. But there is no need to wait until then to discover the secrets of this new series from CLAAS. A preproduction version can be seen "in the metal" for the very first time by visitors to the SIMA 2011 international agri-business show in Paris.
This new tractor impresses right from the start with its pleasing looks and imposing presence. It certainly needs to be big: with four versions ranging from 280 to 400 HP, the new series is the perfect complement to the CLAAS family of large tractors which already comprises the AXION 800 and the XERION.
On closer inspection it soon becomes clear that the CLAAS engineers have developed a completely new tractor. Although they were under no obligation to take account of the existing model series, they remained true to the principles of the CLAAS tractor concept which sets out to deliver high pulling power with low fuel consumption in combination with maximum userfriendliness and operating comfort as well as a compact design. |
