CLAAS receives award at SIMA 2011
Silver for new TERRA TRAC system
The new CLAAS TERRA TRAC system for the LEXION combine harvester was awarded a silver medal at SIMA, the international agricultural technology show, held every two years in Paris The prestigious SIMA Innovation Awards are judged by an expert panel and presented to successful companies at the Show.
In recognition of the machine's outstanding overall design, the panel presented the award to the new CLAAS TERRA TRAC rack system, which drastically reduces the force of impact through its new hydropneumatic suspension. Hydraulic cylinders adjust the individual drive wheels, ground wheels and support rollers of the TERRA TRAC to the ground contour, resulting in automatic levelling and improved stability of the combine. Consequently operator comfort is also drastically improved in the cab by the separate suspension. The new TERRA TRAC system allows the combine to move with greater ease across the fields.
The modern, soil-protecting track is available for the new LEXION 770 and 750. With the new TERRA TRAC, the LEXION 750 can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h on the road. This helps boost the economic efficiency of the combine by reducing the time required for the machine to move between fields – resulting in increased yields.
In short, the all-new track system offers the following benefits: increased soil protection (66% improvement on a wheeled machine), improved traction on wet ground or when working on sloped terrain, stable and smooth cutterbar operation even when operating the widest cutterbars available, increased operator comfort, improved stability on slopes, less drive resistance, less slippage, and therefore reduced fuel consumption.
